Daniel R. Schuda was born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1946. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Glenville State College in 1969, and spent the next four years in the U.S. Air Force. Dan received
an M.B.A. from the University of Delaware
in 1974 and, in 1977, received his J. D. degree from West Virginia University,
where he was a member of Phi Alpha
Delta and Associate Editor of the West Virginia Law Review. After his admission to the West
Virginia bar in 1977, Dan served as law clerk for the next three years to Judge
Robert E. Maxwell of the U.S. District Court for the
Northern District of West Virginia. From 1980
to 1998, Dan practiced law with Steptoe & Johnson, in Charleston, West Virginia. He is a member of the Kanawha County and American Bar Associations, the West Virginia State Bar and Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia. He has also been selected for inclusion in West Virginia Super Lawyers in 2007, 2008, and 2009. His practice areas include
insurance defense, coverage and bad faith; medical and professional malpractice; products liability; business litigation; employment law; recreational law; and general civil practice. Dan has also served as mediator in a number
of civil actions.
